We are one week into our poetry unit with guest teacher Rebecca. Students have been writing beautiful poems using various forms and literary styles. Ask your student to share a poem with you. The following poem uses personification.
Chair
The chair feels tired holding up people all day.
He just wants a break.
All day long he thinks, ‘Please don’t sit on me.’
When people do sit on him
He feels that his space has been violated,
That his bubble has been popped,
His aura is no more.
He feels sad when sat on,
Like not only his dreams,
But he,
Himself, has been crushed.
...Chair
